Decrease the conflict, decrease the risk

Our Tactical Communication course sets you up for success! It is particularly suited to people who do not have a compliance, regulatory or enforcement role but still encounter the public with the potential for verbal conflict such as contact centres or front counter staff.

Learn and practice:

  • Non-escalation strategies (preventing conflict)
  • De-escalation strategies (managing conflict)
  • Crisis communication (addressing an inability to cope)

The course includes a special insight on effectively addressing verbal insults and abuse.

Tangible outcomes of this workshop include:

  • Increased confidence and competence when dealing with difficult people
  • Enhanced brand reputation through an increase in professionalism
  • More resilient staff
  • Reduction in complaints, bad press and time investigating

How good is it?  CERT was contracted to redevelop the tactical communication training program for the entire NZ Police force!

Want to host your own course in-house?

Interleaved into the training are powerful, practical role-plays where participants gain a deep insight into the effectiveness of tactical communication while under near real-life conditions.

Discover what the NZ Police and more than 30 other Commonwealth, State and Local Government agencies already know – that CERT Tactical Communications training is an investment in your staff that will make a positive, measurable, and noticeable difference.

Our training methodology emphasises integrated skills practice i.e events do not occur in isolation so as soon as the skill is learnt we combine related skills and then transition to practical role-plays as early as possible.

We teach the knowledge elements in a supportive classroom environment via presentations, demonstrations, real-world video analysis, and group discussions.

Then, we devote significant time to practice the skills using adult learning principles.

Integrate your training

Tactical Communication can be delivered as a stand-alone workshop or as an entry point to CERT integrated training.  When combined, these courses provide comprehensive and detailed training which could prove crucial to your safety and survival in the critical moments before and during an interaction.

Enhance your training with our suite of allied courses.  CERT Australia can deliver a broad range of training options to support you or your organisation to keep you safe.  From e-learning and classroom training through to multi-day practical hands-on courses.
